Reports: 2 people investigated for launch of unauthorized "George Clooney"-branded clothes

Two people are being investigated for alleged fraud after attempting to launch a clothes line with a brand using actor George Clooney's name, a news report said Thursday.

The U.S. star said someone is pretending to be him to launch the line of clothes.

"If someone tries to sell you clothes or watches that are based on me, don't buy them," Clooney told reporters Wednesday in Rome, where he was promoting his new film "Leatherheads."

The ANSA news agency said Milan tax police on Wednesday seized about 20 garments and watches, as well as fake documentation. The agency said the line was to be launched in Milan next week.

ANSA said the probe stemmed from a complaint filed by the actor.

Tax police in Milan were not immediately available to confirm the reports.
