Elizabeth Haselton Valedi, a 27- year-old former resident of Schodack, is recovering from a five-hour liver transplant performed Thursday morning at Deaconess Hospital in Boston.
The organ was not the exact match that doctors had hoped to locate in time to perform the life- saving procedure, but "she is slowly waking up. I have seen her, and she looks a lot better," said her husband, Simon Valedi on Friday afternoon.
